DISTRICT GOVERNOR LION CLAUDETTE HENRY
Lion Claudette served the Lions of Southwest Florida for the Lion year 2019-20. A year that will go down in Lion history for its many unusual events. Many of the challenges we faced as Lions had to do with COVID-19 and the impact it has had on our members. Lion Claudette was admired leader and demonstrated great poise and leadership as we shifted from in person to online meetings -- we didn't miss a beat -- our clubs and entities were served well. We Serve! has never been a more important part of lionism.
Lion Claudette joined the Lutz Land O Lakes Lions Club in February 2009 and took on the role as VP in July of that year. She attended the Lions Southeast Regional Training to prepare for serving as Club President in 2010. She has since served the Club and District as Zone Chair, Region Chair, and Environmental Chair. Her enthusiasm did not stop as she continued to Serve on the Club Extension Team to develop the Wesley Chapel Lions Club and be Guiding Lion to that Club for 2 years. Lions Claudette is a Certified Diabetes Screener. She also Attended the Lions Advanced Leadership Training in 2016. Lion Claudette earned the Governor's Achievement Award, Lion of the Year (twice), Lion of the Year by the PDG Association and Club President Special Award. Lion Claudette is a Melvin Jones Fellow and has received the International President's Award Medal and International Presidents Certificate of Appreciation. During her leisure time Lion Claudette enjoys being a Host Ambassador for the Straz Performing Center in Tampa where she is privileged to see Broadway Shows and Performances. |
